Ramada by Wyndham Ghaziabad Vasundhara

I’m a frequent traveler and know that operational problems can happen, but this stay pointed to more than an isolated mistake. The restaurant was disappointing too. Even at a quiet breakfast time, we had to ask repeatedly for water or glasses, and the service felt inattentive. They kept overlooking my polite requests to serve chutney separately with dosa, and the food was average. The one bright spot was that they brought a room heater promptly when I asked. The hotel later told me on WhatsApp that CCTV showed a couple entering the room after my checkout and leaving with the table lamp, so I didn’t need to pay. That left me wondering how other guests got into my room after I’d checked out. Earlier, the front desk had accused me of taking the lamp and said it cost ₹6,500, then asked me to pay ₹3,500 because it had been “used.” It was very upsetting. Trying to work out what happened led me to question a professional colleague who had visited me, and that unfortunately harmed our professional relationship. I tried several times to get a simple explanation and closure, but my calls went unanswered. Being accused and then left without direct communication caused a lot of unnecessary stress. I hope management takes this seriously and improves room security and access control, along with staff training.

The price difference was hard to ignore. Our group booking through Mr. Sunil cost about 30% more than the rates we saw online. When a friend needed another room, Agoda was much cheaper than the hotel’s group rate. I raised the issue with Mr. Sunil, who said the deal was already done. I understood that, but expected the rooms to be properly maintained. I stayed in room 8007, and basic things weren’t working. The TV and safe were unusable, and the room phone was broken, so I had to call the hotel landline from my own mobile whenever I needed help or wanted an update on repairs. The door wouldn’t latch unless I pushed it hard, and otherwise kept sounding an alarm. I’d asked housekeeping to clean while I was out, but nothing had been done when I returned. There was also a constant foul smell. For a property like Ramada Ghaziabad, all of this was far below what I expected. The stay was very disappointing.

The dahi ke sholay were a real highlight, crisp outside and creamy in the middle. We also enjoyed the flavorful BBQ chicken, soft, well-seasoned paneer, and rich dal makhni. We came to Ramada by Wyndham for a family meal and found the setting warm, elegant, and comfortable. It made for a lovely relaxed outing, and we’d be happy to come back.

I stayed here earlier in Jan 26 and most things were good, apart from breakfast. There were no fresh juices except watermelon, and the canned ones weren’t acceptable. Ghaziabad has other fresh fruit options, too. The cookies were stale, with flies around them.
