The best part of our New Year party was dinner beneath the firecrackers on the hilltop. The Hostel / Hotel sits high enough to have its own sunrise and sunset viewpoints, and I loved the location. A young gen-Z team worked day and night and did their best to look after guests, though the food could taste much better. Getting up there can be a problem if you have big luggage, since some drivers refuse the uphill trip or charge extra. Still, I had a good experience at the hilltop party.

We paid 2500/- per person for the 2026 New Year party, but that covered only a tent stay, with no food. The DJ and arrangements were poor, there was no proper table setup or clear information, and the whole thing felt completely unprofessional. It reminded us of a college fresher party on New Year's night. Food prices were high too. We were very disappointed, our celebration was ruined, and it wasn't worth the price.

We stopped at Aaroha Hill for lunch. It sits on a hill with lovely views, about a short walk between Gokarna and Kudle Beach. The water fan was a welcome break from the midday heat. Food and drinks were delicious and very high quality, with reasonable prices, and the staff were pleasant and polite. Rooms are available, though we didn't stay in one.
