Mango Village Resort

We spent three days at Mango Village and were very happy we chose to visit. The place was clean, and the restaurant staff served us with warmth and care. The food was absolutely delicious, authentic Konkani style, and the other dishes were freshly prepared too. We’d definitely love to come again. 🌿✨

The natural setting and magnificent green views were beautiful, and the whole staff team was polite, welcoming, and eager to help. We had a very pleasant stay and would like to return. A few changes could make the experience better. The villa paths were too dim at night. More lighting would make it safer and easier to walk between the villas and main facilities, especially for older guests or anyone with mobility challenges. The villas are also some distance from the facilities, and without room service or an in-room intercom, basic requests were difficult. It could be worrying if a medical need or other urgent situation came up at night. An accessible intercom and standard room service would add convenience and peace of mind. We chose the resort because it was described as pet-friendly, so it was disappointing to find that pets weren’t allowed inside the main restaurant. The staff kindly thought of a solution and accommodated us with our pet outside, which eased the inconvenience. A designated indoor or sheltered dining area for guests with pets would fit the pet-friendly promise better. Dinner leaned mostly toward North Indian food. Although it was generally well prepared, it was often quite rich, spicy, or greasy for our palate. More authentic regional Maharashtrian recipes, vegetables, and delicacies would offer more variety and celebrate the local culture.

The location is good, the property is decently maintained, and the staff were helpful. The food we were served was delicious. Still, our stay was just okay, and it could have been much better. It may be worth avoiding if other facilities are available. The steep, sloping terrain made it uncomfortable to walk around and could be difficult for seniors or differently abled people. A car is a must for getting around. The beach is about 1.5 kms away, along a very narrow village road. Mango village has showers and changing areas near the beach, but the beach itself is somewhat secluded and might not be very safe. The rooms lacked basic comforts. The mattress had uneven pits and was deflated, so sleep was uncomfortable all three nights. There was no good replacement mattress, so we had to manage with extra duvets. The set top box was deactivated, leaving us without TV. There was only a fridge, no WIFI, and mobile connectivity wasn’t very good. The AC was noisy, though we didn’t need it this season. Hot water came from a small geyser that was too small even for two people, and it stopped working during power failures. Backup power covered only lights and fans. The restaurant had buffet only, with no ala carte option or room service. The spread wasn’t large and there were few dishes. When boiled eggs or burji were served, omelette wasn’t available. The food tasted good overall, but was heavy on carbs and light on protein options. The swimming pool was well maintained, but it felt more like a plunge pool mostly for kids, too large to call a bath tub and too small to call a swimming pool.

The property is huge, clean, and in a serene location, so we had a great experience. The food was nice, though a wider buffet with Kokani dishes would be good. They also need to work on room service.
