Hotel East Coast

There’s a FL (Foreign Liquor) bar, which may be handy for guests looking for alcohol, but the food didn’t feel worth its price. Breakfast is available, though it isn’t a buffet, which seemed surprising at those rates. The service was slow, and staff didn’t seem professional or responsible about guest concerns. The rooms are old and poorly maintained, cleanliness is an issue, and the bathrooms are also outdated and in bad shape. Hotel East Coast in Durgachak, Haldia has a long history, but it needs substantial work on maintenance and service to meet modern expectations.

The staff were polite, the service was good, and the food was really tasty. Nice hotel.

There were very few breakfast choices. The room itself was shabby, and basic cleanliness was poor: the blanket cover was dirty, and the towel provided had black spots. The washroom hadn’t been cleaned before the room was assigned. The commode was dirty and had been used, and unwrapped used washing soaps were left there. Drinking water came in a shabby plastic bottle instead of mineral water.

The atmosphere made a strong impression on me, and the staff were very helpful. It’s an old, prime hotel, but the rooms and interiors are quite attractive.
