The rooftop restaurant was a real gathering place, with travellers swapping stories over a beer, and the view reaches across the city towards Amber Fort. We ate freshly prepared food each night, and the pumpkin curry was incredible. Breakfast came as a choice of Indian paratha, pickles and curd, or omelette with fresh fruit. I loved the papaya and masala tea. Our room, 503, was clean, big, comfortable, and had a great city view. The guest house sits right by lively, friendly streets and shops, with just a few minutes' walk through the bazaars to City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and Hawa Mahal. We were here at the start of our three-month India trip, after foggy Delhi, and loved this relaxed oasis in the Pink City. Highly recommend.

The staff and Goro were amazing, and everything we needed was provided. We were very happy with the stay. It felt like being at home away from home, with full service and a real sense of safety.

The restaurant upstairs was a standout. Some hotel restaurants in India have been disappointing, but this one served some of the best meals we've had. The roof has couches and tables, plus a balcony with seating and a nice city view. Staff were friendly, too. We stayed three nights in a big room with an ensuite. The shower always had hot water and strong pressure. The hotel is off the main road on a narrow street, about a five-minute walk from the City Palace complex. Arcades line both sides, so you stay covered in rain, and the street was fine even when wet, with no mud problems. We did hear some car horns, though.

After our bus left us stuck for two hours in a dark, dodgy part of Jaipur, we needed somewhere to stay that night. The guys let us come back and wouldn't charge us for the stay. That was incredibly kind. Goru, the owner, can really cook, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. The place is wonderful for the price.
