Pumpkin Stays Boutique Cottages

We booked a day at this property as two friends, but when we arrived, the receptionist didn’t know about our booking or that we were coming. He was the only staff member there. We couldn’t reach the manager, the person we’d booked through, on arrival day, and after a lot of trouble we eventually found the property ourselves. It’s deep in a remote valley, with no nearby population or help, which already felt unsafe. The cabin was damp, the mattress was soaked from rain, and leaves covered the floor. The receptionist, who also seemed to be the cleaner, spent about ten minutes cleaning in front of us. The washroom felt extremely unsafe: a large open space in the wall instead of a properly sealed ventilation window seemed like an easy way for someone to get in, and the door had no proper latch. At night, we heard someone moving outside and seemingly trying to peek through the glass walls. They turned on the outdoor lights to look inside. It was terrifying, especially because we were alone in an isolated cabin. We called the receptionist to ask if he was outside; he denied it, which made us more suspicious. Fearing for our safety, we left in the middle of the night and moved somewhere far away. I’d warn people not to visit. The place feels extremely unsafe and unmonitored. I especially wouldn’t go with a female companion; in such an isolated location, anything could happen and no one would know where you were.

The location was epic, and the staff were very good. Cleanliness was good too.
