OYO 7473 Krishna Galaxy

Booking through OYO turned into a very disappointing experience. I reserved this hotel two days before check-in for Rs. 1009. When I arrived, they said they wouldn't take online payment. I told OYO, but they didn't respond well, so I agreed to pay cash. Then the hotel told me to cancel and book again. I had an exam and no real choice, so I rebooked the same place for a much higher Rs. 1470. The hotel's small, dirty rooms weren't worth even Rs. 1400, and the staff behavior wasn't professional either.

The street is very crowded and narrow, so you can't park a vehicle there, though it's a comfortable walk from the railway station toward ghanta ghar. I stayed three days, and no staff member asked me for a tip, which was great. Rooms on the first and second floors are better than those on the ground floor. The rooms were clean, the food delicious, and the staff well behaved.

I was happy with the room's size, since it felt just right for a normal stay, and the bed and bathroom were clean. There was hot and cold water, though the tap pressure was very weak and could be annoying if you take long showers. A small tea table sat by the bed, with another table near the bathroom that might have been for studying. I was on the third floor. The free breakfast can be ordered in the morning from 8-10. The hotel is a short walk from Kanpur Central Station, but it's in the busy Ghantaghar Chowk market, so there's no parking at the hotel. The station parking lot is an option. It has an elevator, but it wasn't working during my visit. I hadn't spoken much with the staff, though they were friendly and helpful. Since some reviews mentioned cleanliness, I called two hours before arrival to ask them to clean the room and change the sheets and cushion covers. It was ready as requested.

The room I had on the third floor was clean and well kept, and the bathroom was neat and sanitized. Service was quick, the food tasted good, and the staff were polite and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance of Kanpur Central railway station, near Ghanta Ghar chauraha, in a very crowded wholesale market area. There's no parking there, though you can use the railway station parking. The entrance is only by stairs, so it isn't wheelchair accessible.
