Hotel Ocean Heritage

We had a horrible, uncomfortable night after finding bed bugs in our bed at Ocean Heritage. Once we told the staff, they changed our room right away, and we appreciated how quickly they responded. The staff were polite and helpful throughout. I hope they tighten up cleanliness and pest control so other guests don't run into the same problem.

The best things here were the location near the Vivekananda Memorial and the rooftop, where you can watch sunrise and sunset. The staff were polite and helpful, and they eventually fixed the AC in our room. Still, the stay was disappointing. Room 305 had a bathroom leak, so we moved to 306, which smelled bad, then to 309. That room had cockroaches everywhere, sheets that didn't seem clean, and no kettle or shampoo. The fan started making a loud noise on the second day, and at night the AC began spitting water and making odd sounds. The rooms felt like poorly maintained budget accommodation. Ventilation was a serious problem too: the windows were locked, the curtains were dusty, and odors lingered. We had to leave both the main door and bathroom door open for air. There was no lunch or dinner service, and the complimentary breakfast wasn't tasty. Maintenance and cleanliness need major work.

The front desk was helpful, offering directions to nearby places and suggesting quieter times to visit. The location is convenient, with the ferry, Beach road, and Temple within walking distance. Breakfast was simple but good overall. It's a very basic hotel, and the rooms are old and quite small, really suited to two people. Some rooms have a sea view; from the others, you can't open the curtains without looking straight at other buildings. The 5th floor terrace is a nice spot for sunrise on a clear day.

It looks nice from outside, but the rooms are extremely small, more like a guest house than a proper hotel. The mattress provided for an adult was this size, and we had senior citizens traveling with us, so it wasn't very suitable. I couldn't upload the video.
