Karmaliz Casa Del Lake

We expected a relaxing getaway, but ended up with what seemed to be the worst room on the property and a shocking lack of basic service from the employees. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay was so disappointing that I feel I should warn other travelers.

The pleasant ambience and good food were about the only things that met expectations. The service felt unprofessional, and the facilities were poorly maintained. Our room was in bad condition and had clearly not been looked after. All that poor upkeep spoiled the stay, and it wasn’t worth the price.

We left at 11:30 PM feeling very disappointed. My friends and I had paid Rs 4000 for four people to attend the New Year celebration at karmaliz, but it didn’t feel worth even 100rs. The food and program were both below standard. No one was there to welcome or attend to guests. The program began at 9:15pm and included a dance by two children under seven. It felt like their debut performance. The woman running the stage didn’t know what was coming next, either. The dishes were set out in a dark area with no light to see what was being served. There was dessert, but no spoon or plate, so the pudding came in a water glass without a spoon. It was a terrible experience.

The location is awesome and the resort is very nice. For the price, though, the rooms could be better or more spacious. Jithin is fantastic, always finding his own way to meet our needs and making guest service feel special.
