Tsomoriri Camp And Resort

The view from our tent was breathtaking, and we caught a beautiful sunrise the next morning. Staff hospitality deserves a 10/10. We enjoyed the food, especially the Thukpa, which was comfort food in the cold. We spent one night here on 19th August. The tents were cozy and the beds comfortable. In such a remote spot, you only get basic amenities, which was fine by us. They brought hot water when we asked, and gave us hot water bags to put under the blankets once it got very chilly after sunset.

After reaching tsomoriri, we spent two hours looking for the hotel and couldn't even visit the lake site. The whole day, our money, energy, and holiday were wasted. We were three women travelling with a driver, and with no mobile network in the area, we were left wondering whether we'd have to drive back to Leh at night on that terrible road. The owner, the lady at tsomoriri resort who took our reservation through Mentokling Residency, Leh, hadn't let the staff on site know about it. When we arrived, they said they had no booking for that day. We showed them photos of the hotel room, but they said they didn't have that kind of room, then sent us around to every hotel in the area to look for ours. Another hotel owner noticed us searching and suggested we go to the Army camp to get internet access. The people there helped us connect and call the person who had booked for us. That's when we realized this was the same hotel we'd first gone to, and they had lied to us. The Army head told us to take ladhak police with us back to the hotel, but we were exhausted from searching and just went ourselves. The staff member then said he'd called their reservation lady twice that morning to check for bookings, and she'd told him there weren't any, which is why he turned us away. I was shocked, angry, and tired. Don't book here if you want a fun holiday and good memories. Their lack of communication and irresponsibility can ruin your whole trip. Sandhya

Bring a printed copy of your booking. There’s no network in the area, so confirming it can be nearly impossible. After an exhausting 8-hour journey, we were left trying to find the cottage for two hours because management hadn’t told the staff about our reservation. The employees seemed completely unbothered, and we had no way to confirm anything without signal. We finally got accommodation after visiting the army camp. The cottage and management were terrible. The power went out at 11The staff managed to serve food that was just okay, but the whole stay was awful.

Tourism at Tsomoriri is still developing, and more needs to be done. Like most stays there, Tsomoriri Camp and Resort is average, but the service we received was very good.
