The bathroom was filthy, and the AC rattled like a generator. They promised pick-up and drop-off from the yatra point when we booked, then refused the pick-up. Terrible experience. Think carefully before choosing this place.

We only ended up here because the nearby Maha Mai was full and we had nowhere else to go. The rooms felt small for the price and weren't very clean; the toilet taps leaked and hot water was limited. Staff were polite, though quite firm about the rates. They also run tours and travel services. Their prices were a little high, but the trip itself worked well for us: we booked a two-day tour of 7 Shakti Peeths in Haryana and had no problems. If you can't find another option, you could consider staying here, and you might also look into their tours.

Our train arrived in Katra at midnight, and we had to find another hotel at the last minute. A week before traveling, I had called to confirm the booking we made through booking.com, but the hotel didn't honor our request. The man on the phone said they were full and tried to sell us a room at another property for much more. He even admitted that our booking.com deal was too cheap and that he wanted to cash in on the huge Vaishno Devi crowds. Stay away from this property.

There was no phone in the room, so if you needed to complain or ask for something, you had to walk all the way to reception. The staff weren't supportive, and they were only nice until they'd collected the money when you arrived. This place had no hospitality. I wouldn't plan a booking here.
