It’s a secluded, peaceful spot between the mountains, with the beach giving you lovely access to the Ganges. There’s a waterfall and plenty to do. The cottages are spacious and comfortable, the meals feel homely, and the staff are amazing and polite. The rafting was the best I’ve experienced. Special thanks to guide Jeevan Bisht, who was just amazing. A really wonderful staycation option to check out.
The main thing to consider before booking is the 2km forest trail to reach the resort, which may be tough for anyone who doesn’t trek. You leave the car at the top, then face a 45-minute adventurous walk down. But the seclusion is part of the appeal: it’s opposite the river bed and away from the noise, with a waterfall hike and cliff jumping to enjoy. Rafting was amazing, and our resort guide Jeevan was professional and skilled. Manager Pushkar was courteous and always available, and Manish and honey Singh were caring and prompt. The food was brilliant. The joy of being right across from the river made this a 5/5 experience for me.
I’ve been camping in this area for over 10 years, though at different camps, and trying Ganga Riviera camp this time turned into a nightmare. The staff were very rude, the food was bad and available for much less elsewhere, and the tents weren’t up to the mark. The tea was basically hot water with ginger. The waterfall view is available from any camp around here, and you can enjoy the Ganga shoreline elsewhere too, so I’d say don’t go. Thanks to management for the worst experience. I also lost some belongings when the luggage was moved to the parking area. They weren’t costly, but they mattered to someone.
The rafting was awesome, and the people running it were well trained and funny. The food was tasty too. It’s a clean, calm place with a nice natural view and a private beach. Amazing place to stay.
Getting there takes a bit of effort: your cab drops you at a shop in kaudiyala, the camp staff pick you up, and then you trek for 2kms. Once there, you can enjoy the campfire at night and bring your own speakers. They offer river rafting, cliff jumping, mountain climbing, and other activities. The chef makes delicious food, and the camp staff are friendly, helpful, and happy to answer questions. The views of the mountains and River Ganga are beautiful, right beside the holy river, and the place is peaceful and stunning. It’s a great break if you’re stressed, whether you’re with friends or travelling solo and need some space. I hope to return. Trust me, once you’ve visited, you’ll want to go again.
