What a dump. Our room was filthy and looked nothing like the photos. We were there only while waiting for our night train to Varanasi, but paid Rs600 because we'd reserved, while we were offered rooms for Rs 350 as we walked to Hotel Plaza. That place might have been just as good or better. It's only a little way out of town. Then the guy had the nerve to email me asking for a '10/10' review on every aspect of the property on Agoda. Hilarious.

The rooms we were given didn't look like the photos sent before we booked. When we raised the issue, the person who took the booking didn't reply or call back.

The staff are what make this such a good place to stay, and the rooms are clean and pleasant. I also loved the luxurious feel of the rooms and the food. Great location.

I've never had a worse hotel room experience. The rooms smelled bad and were dirty, there was no backup power, and the AC kept switching off at random. It seemed someone was turning off its switch from a panel outside. We had two rooms under the same deal: one was okay, the other was awful. It looked like we were given a lower-grade room than the one booked online. That same room was also sold to another customer at the same time. There was half an hour of confusion in the afternoon, and the other customer ended up taking a partial refund and finding another hotel. There was no privacy either, you could hear what was happening in other rooms and elsewhere.

Never, ever go to this hotel. The owner has no manners and they don't know how to treat people. The rooms were filthy and the bathrooms were a complete dump. They just want your money.
