Hotel Esteem

Nitesh Pandey at reception was generous and looked after guests well, and the rooms were spacious and clean. But the hotel needs a lot of upkeep. The furniture is old, the walls need paint, some switches are broken or don't work, and the bathroom window is damaged. The bucket and mug were dirty and mismatched. Basic items like hand towels, moisturizer, powder, dental kits, and slippers weren't provided. The food was poor, and when we tried ordering from the menu, many dishes weren't available. They didn't have ice cubes or chilled water either. It felt as if management wasn't interested in caring for the rooms, service, or guests, and was relying on the location to bring in business. I wouldn't recommend staying here, especially with a couple of good hotels nearby.

The rooms are decent and the service is good. Kali ghat mandir, victoria memorial, and the zoological garden are all close by.

Nitesh and his colleagues at reception made us feel welcome, and Chandan and Ramesh from room service took care of everything. My daughter and I stayed for four nights and five days during Navratri, when we came to the City of Joy for Durga Pooja. The premium room was worth the price, and the food was too. Garlic chicken and chicken sandwiches were menu highlights. Esteem deserves a four-star rating for the hospitality standards the team delivers. Well done, team Esteem!

The room was dirty and waterlogged after check-in. It was also very small for the price.
