OYO 10919 Amar Raj Rooms

Registration went smoothly, but the rooms didn't feel safe to me. The curtains don't cover the whole window, and the AC wasn't working properly. When I arrived, I couldn't find the hotel, and the pictures shown for the property were actually of another Oyo opposite it. There's no Oyo holding on the property. The owner should look into this as soon as possible. I didn't like this Oyo hotel.

The location is quiet, inside a residential coming, and Galaxy mall is the nearest market, 950metres away. The landmark is WATER TANK 7. It might be worth considering for the location or if you get a great deal, but otherwise it's just not worth it. This is worse than a cheap guest house. I wouldn't pay more than 800rs per night, but Oyo charges almost 1500. Linen is very dirty and cheap quality, and the towels looked used and then folded again. There's little food variety, with prices like the best restaurants.

I arrived around 5 in the evening, and the check-in process started when I handed over my passport. The reception boy had apparently never seen a foreign passport before and asked me for another ID as proof. He scanned the passport, then asked my husband and me to pose for a live photo as part of check-in. I'd travelled across 40 countries and all other states in India, and that had never happened to me before. I was really frustrated. After seeing our luggage, he said he wanted to check it, opened it, and took a photo. There were a lot of boys with the manager boy, encouraging him. I hesitated to have these small boys inspect my luggage. The manager boy called the property manager, who said that if we didn't want them to see our luggage, we should find another hotel or call OYO. We struggled for four hours on the road in front of the hotel while dealing with OYO and Make My Trip customer care, trying to cancel the booking and find somewhere else. We found another hotel within 2 kms, where they didn't photograph us or inspect our luggage. I had a lot of bad treatment from people in West Bengal during my all India trip with my husband, and we cancelled all our plans to spend time in kolkata. The next day we left the city and west Bengal border. Thank you oyo kolkata rooms.

I arrived after booking and found nobody at reception. The owner seemed unconcerned that a guest was left waiting outside, which is not how a hotel should operate. This is a really cheap place, but the low price can make a trip miserable. I wouldn't recommend staying here. I'd also avoid booking through OYO and use a reliable platform such as goibibo or Makemytrip instead. OYO was awful in my experience.
