Oyo 37334 Hotel Happy

The rooms and bathrooms were clean, and all the equipment worked properly. My Oyo app booking was for a 2X room at 1100 per room, but 800 would have felt like the right price. The room was small, though it had a TV, AC, cupboard, attached bathroom, table, telephone, and WiFi. There's a restaurant, but its food is overpriced. They require ID at check-in. No water purifier such as an Aquaguard was available, only bottled water for sale. Google Maps shows the hotel just 2kms from Subash bose international airport, but the drive takes around half an hour. With Kolkata traffic, leave at least 2.5 hrs if you're catching an afternoon flight.

The room we got was tiny and nothing like the rooms shown on Oyo. The atmosphere was poor, and it felt cold, shabby, and unclean. The bedsheet was dirty, with several strands of female hair on it, and the blankets were yellowish and dirty, stuffed unfolded into a wall cabinet. There was no cleanliness to speak of. I wouldn't recommend it. The worst.

The hotel was clean overall, with a roomy enough room and a clean bathroom with hot water. It can work for couples too. But my experience with the service boy was the worst part. He had a lot of attitude and wouldn't listen when I asked him to replace a dirty blanket. He said there wasn't an extra one and refused to change it, so I had to sleep without a blanket.

I booked through OYA and arrived at 9.30 in the morning, but my booking began at 12. I asked if I could wait in reception for a while and was told I couldn't sit there, so I had to pay Rs 250 extra. The pillow in the room had a yellow stain. When I pointed it out, the person at reception insisted it had been washed, but I showed him the stain came off with my bare nails. I checked out that evening and went back home from Kolkata. The manager was good, but the older man on duty in the morning was rude and didn't understand how customers should be treated.
