OYO 9662 Kajali Guest House

We booked a deluxe room through oyo, but they didn't check us in through the app and put us in a bad room instead. The hotel isn't couple friendly. The receptionist laughed when he saw us as a couple. They deliberately delayed check-in by an hour, apparently so they could clean and give us that bad room. They also said there had been a police raid at the hotel. Couples, please don't go here.

I'd avoid this place. The staff were rude, unfriendly and unhelpful, and need basic training in how to communicate with guests. I booked through MMT because it was close to VFS, but they ignored the online booking and asked me for cash before check-in. I was in a hurry for other work, so I paid. They gave me no bill at check-in or checkout, which made me worry about customer rights. Maybe they were avoiding putting the booking on paper or hiding cash from the owner. Sorting out the issue between MMT and OYO was cumbersome, though they managed to resolve it on paper. I'll update this if I get the booking amount back. Six months later, I still hadn't received any refund from MMT-OYO. It feels like a scam. The single room I stayed in was passable, but the lift didn't work and the stairs were dirty, with ashes everywhere and a used condom. There are eateries nearby, but I found the same problem of equally rude reception and staff there. “No joy found in the city of joy,” ironically. Some might consider a 1200 Rs room value for money, but the unpleasant experience outweighs the price. Please choose somewhere else.

After I booked through oyo, the property owner told me they would accept the booking and to come. Once I arrived, they demanded an extra 1400 rupees. When I refused to check in, the receptionist and two other staff members physically attacked me, then took my phone, headphones and wallet. A few hours later I realized they'd stolen more than 1000/-. The receptionist was a black male with the attitude and looks of a goon. I told the oyo representative everything, but they said the owner had checked me out, so they couldn't move me to another hotel. The owner marked me as checked out just to get a tiny commission on my prepaid booking. I asked how they could say I'd checked out if I hadn't checked in. The owner had used that loophole. I told the representative that if the owner claimed I checked in, they should provide proof. The government rules require owners to collect government ID at check-in, such as voter ID, adhaar or a passport. They couldn't provide any proof because I never checked in, so how could they have my government ID? The owner was outside at that moment and didn't take any action. Please choose another hotel and don't go there.

The staff's behaviour was very rude, and this was a bad experience. I booked after confirming early check-in with OYO customer care, but when I arrived the hotelier demanded the full booking amount for early check-in even though I'd already paid through the OYO website. Customer care had said only up to 30% of the booking amount was due, but the hotel staff wouldn't accept that. I had to call customer care and cancel the booking. The money still hasn't come back to my account; only part of it is in my OYO Money Balance. I've also emailed OYO support asking whether the canceled booking amount will be refunded to my account. This hotel doesn't deserve even 3.3 stars, it should get 0 (ZERO). And now the OYO support people will come here and say sorry for the bad experience.
