Hotel Le Garden

My wife and I planned a Navagraha Temple Darshan from Kumbakonam for 24-01-26 to 26-01-26, three days. After checking rooms online, I chose Hotel Le Garden and tried to book through Agoda. Agoda showed Rs.2700/-, and its listed check-in was 12:00PM with check-out at 2:00 PM. We were due in Kumbakonam at 9:00AM, so waiting three hours would have been difficult. I called the reception to ask about this. They said they would follow Agoda’s check-in and check-out times for Agoda bookings, then rudely told me to book through Agoda and hung up. To cover the three hours, I booked an extra night from 23-01-26 through Agoda and paid extra for Complementary Breakfast. We reached Hotel Le Garden at 9:30AM on 24-01-26 and were given room 108. It was very small, despite looking much bigger in the online listing. The restroom was small too, the taps were broken, there was a dark stain mark on the toilet led, and the hot water wasn’t coming properly. Housekeeping didn’t answer when I called. We had to follow up repeatedly before anyone came, even for water bottles. Breakfast was the same every day, with very limited items, and wasn’t very good. When I first enquired, I was quoted Rs.3200 Or 200 Kms. for a taxi to visit temples over two days. When I booked it on 24-01-26, they said it was Rs. 3700 or200Kms. I had no choice, and paid Rs. 7400/ + Driver cost. On 26-01-26, our check-out was at 2:00PM. Since I had already paid for an extra room night that we didn’t stay, I respectfully asked the reception person to extend checkout until 6:00PM. He refused, saying they had to follow the booking terms. I offered to pay extra for the four hours, but he still refused rudely. We checked out before 2:00 PM on 26-01-26 and had to sit with all our bags in the reception area until 5:30PM. My wife had a fever after the daily rain in Kumbakonam. Outside, in front of the hotel, DRAINAGE WATER was flowing and smelled very bad. Nobody bothered to clean it, and we were sitting in reception with that smell. My wife and I had planned this trip for our good fortune and temple darshan, but it became a horrible and painfully bad experience. We came to Bangalore. The restaurant served fantastic food with a great authentic taste, and the staff gave top-notch service. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was excellent and easy to reach, and the big parking area was a huge convenience, especially since that’s a rare find. Highly recommend it for a pleasant, hassle-free stay at Hotel Le Garden.

Hotel Le Garden looks brand new after a full renovation. I came back after many years and was shocked by how much it had changed. The rooms are really big, and the bathrooms are super clean. Their veg restaurant is still amazing, maybe even better than before. There’s plenty of parking, which makes it great for families. Everything feels very high-end now.

The staff were very responsive, and there’s adequate parking. The restaurant is in the basement and serves vegetarian food, though it doesn’t seem to get many customers. The hotel is reasonably decent overall. Better bathrooms would make it an excellent place to stay.
