Viruksham Homestay

Viruksham felt homely and peaceful, even though it's on the main road. The traditional design is lovely, with swings, lots of greenery, open space for kids to play, and spacious rooms with bamboo beds. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Caregivers are there 24/7 and can help with homemade food and drinks, which made us more comfortable. Before coming here, we'd stayed at a hotel that cost nearly twice as much, yet had a much smaller room and none of Viruksham's distinctive features or warmth. We were extremely happy with our stay and would highly recommend it to international travelers looking for somewhere clean, authentic, and traditionally inspired.

Room 2 had a nice organic smell, but when we left I asked the caretaker to clean it and nothing much was done. It was just a place to rest, nothing special, and only okay overall. The food came from a local home connected with the place and was average, nothing worth mentioning. A bit much for the price.

It can be hard staying away from home with kids, but Viruksham Homestay felt like home and was comfortable for us. The rooms were neat and well maintained, and the caretakers were helpful and available 24/7. It's a pleasant place with easy access to all the temples. We strongly recommend Viruksham homestay for a stay in Kumbakonam.

Our stay at viruksham homestay, Marudanallur, Kumbakonam was very calm and peaceful. It's a nice place to stay, with good public and private transport connections for visiting temples in and around Kumbakonam.
