The hosts, especially Mrs. Roslin, are a big reason guests enjoy staying here. She’s often praised for being welcoming, offering helpful guidance, and pitching in when needed. The rooms and attached washrooms are spacious, comfortable, and well kept, giving families and groups a clean, safe place to stay at pocket-friendly rates. For getting around, the location near Aanavachal Junction on Kumily Thekkady Road is handy. Periyar National Park's ticket office and information center are about a two-minute walk away, with the Kumily bazaar, spice supermarkets, and other tourist spots close by. There are plenty of regional dining places within walking distance, since the homestay generally doesn't have a restaurant or in-house food. It does have a dining area, laundry service, full power backup, and free private car parking on site.

I had a very poor stay at Ninja Homestay. The room wasn't properly maintained, the facilities disappointed, and the staff weren't helpful. The whole experience was uncomfortable, and I wouldn't recommend this place.

We were a group of 20 and stayed in 5 to 6 rooms on the night of the 22nd. The rooms were clean and hygienic, and the staff were really helpful. The place is close to the Periyar water boating bus ticket counter, an easy walk away.

Rosaline and her son were so kind and helpful throughout our four-day stay, making sure we had everything we needed and making it a very pleasant visit. We were there with our six-year-old son. The location was convenient between the center and the tiger reserve. Our room was very clean, with a big bathroom, hot water, and laundry service.

After a long journey, we were welcomed warmly in the evening, and the staff were friendly throughout. The large, clean room made for a great stay. Ninja is conveniently placed in Thekkady, close to the reserve and near the bamboo, but the area is still nice and quiet. We also got to go on some walks with the owner's son, seeing amazing views and having great conversations along the way.
