Zostel Leh

The water problems were the worst part of my stay. One night there was no water in the washroom, then the next day there was no drinking water. I waited overnight without getting a response, and when I finally raised it with the staff, they gave excuses like “the water froze.” Even Pangong Lake wasn’t frozen yet. They couldn’t provide cups for the kettle either, and I checked out early just to get drinking water. The place was also dirty and uncomfortable: the sheets were soiled, glasses stained, towels smelled of dogs, and used toiletries were still in the bathroom when I arrived. Basic facilities were missing too. The upstairs café was closed, the dining area was in the basement and seemed unhygienic, and there was no tea or coffee in the room. Requests for even morning tea were refused in freezing weather. The listing promised a room heater, but there wasn’t one, and no bonfire or TV either. It didn’t look or feel like a Zostel, with no branding or vibe, just an ordinary local hostel. I only realized much later that it was supposed to be a Zostel. Staff were unresponsive and careless throughout. I thought Zostel stood for a certain standard and atmosphere, but this completely shattered my trust. Never booking Zostel again. The most horrible experience ever.

The trip was comfortable and enjoyable, with the arrangements handled efficiently. Rahul, our community manager, was approachable and very professional. Zo Trips gave us a memorable touring experience, and I’d definitely recommend it.

The property has a beautiful view, especially in the morning, and its location is peaceful without being too far from the main market. It was easy to meet people and have fun conversations in the common area. The place is clean and comfortable, with a good vibe and friendly, helpful staff. I had a great stay at Zostel Leh and would love to return.

The community was what made this hostel special. Vishal, and Nitin put real effort into helping strangers connect, with icebreaker sessions and fun group activities. Their care and hospitality were beyond expectations, and we felt so comfortable that it was like being at home instead of just traveling. Staying here was one of the best decisions of our trip. Highly recommend it for comfort and a memorable community experience.
