Hem was friendly and helpful, took care of everything, and showed us great hospitality. The place is a beautiful, secluded coffee estate in an 1895 heritage building. It’s a little far from the city, but on the way to Thalakaveri. They serve all three meals, with Kodava dishes, and the bonfire is something you'll really enjoy. I visited with family and would highly recommend it to friends and family too. Street lights at night would be a great addition.
The owners were cordial and very helpful, even taking us to the newer property just so we could bathe, since hot water took longer to get in the old one during winter. Their simple menu was really tasty and suited us well for trekking. There are two properties: one is more than 100 years old, with a campfire space, and the other doesn't have one. The newer place has a geyser for hot water on demand, as long as power is available; the older one doesn't. If you like an old setup, you'll enjoy the older house. Google Maps found it easily, though it might be difficult otherwise.
The food keeps me coming back, delicious, authentic Coorgi dishes made with fresh local ingredients, and you can taste the care in them. I also really appreciate how the hosts give personal attention, answer questions, and suggest local activities and attractions that fit my interests. City life and its crazy noise wear me out, so I come here as often as I can. The hosts always welcome me warmly and make sure I'm comfortable. The homestay is a peaceful retreat in Coorg's green hills, with spacious, clean rooms, all the needed amenities, and lovely views. I spend hours on the balcony taking it all in. It's well maintained, and I've always been thoroughly impressed. Highly recommend it for a relaxing, rejuvenating getaway. The hospitality, amenities, and location make it a great way to enjoy the beauty and charm of the region.
Cauvery river is only 2km from the property, and you can go there for a fun time. Our Bangalore motorcycle club, RTMC, comes here every year like it's a pilgrimage. The owner Hem and his team offer phenomenal hospitality, and the food is mouthwatering, with no compromises.
Follow Uday's directions to find the place, since getting there is tricky. He runs two very nice properties: one has two double bedrooms and a huge loft, while the more private one has four double bedrooms, each with an attached bathroom. The food is made on site and is really good, prices are reasonable, and both locations are awesome. Uday can arrange a campfire too if you want one.
