Coorg Shell

It’s only 50 metres from the Asian Xpress bus stop. The people were warm and welcoming, and the aunty cooked delicious food. The stay was nice and pleasant, with a homely feel.

We arrived around 4:30 in the morning, and the aunty and another staff member were kind and accommodating. They also arranged a scooty for us for ₹500 per day, though you can negotiate the price. Breakfast was good. The rooms are compact, but each has an attached hall, so it didn’t feel cramped. The property looks small in photos but is actually quite spacious. I booked at the last minute, and it hadn’t been high on our list, but it turned out to be well worth it. The one worry was that calls weren’t answered despite several attempts, so I wasn’t sure about the early check-in. Apart from that, it was a great stay.

Coorg shell feels like home, thanks to the kind, sweet caretakers who made sure we were comfortable. Aunty prepares yummy, authentic breakfast every day, and breakfast was included in our package. I’d suggest booking it with breakfast so you don’t miss it. The place is about 5mins from the KSRTC bus stand, where autorickshaws are easy to find outside.

We were hosted very well at Coorg Shell, with great hospitality and a lovely homelike feel. The authentic vegetarian Coorgi breakfast was amazing. Such a delightful stay!
