BG Residency

The temple is nearby, and the complimentary breakfast was good, but several parts of our one-night stay disappointed us. The air conditioning didn’t cool the room properly, so we slept uncomfortably, and the room had a broken dressing table. For two guests, there was only one soap and shampoo, and no complimentary drinking water. We hadn’t expected a 100 rs parking charge, and paying another 20 rs for a small cup of poori masala felt unnecessary, since that’s usually complimentary at other places. The amenities, room condition, and unexpected charges need improvement.

We stayed one night. The coordinators were good, and the complimentary breakfast was okay, but the rooms felt cramped and there was no ventilation. The AC and heaters worked. The charges felt too high.

I visited Madurai with my family and had a very bad stay at BG Residency. The owner, manager, and receptionist were never available, and no one was there at checkout. There was no service, and the people at the restaurants below were rude. I don’t understand why they opened this hotel if they don’t value visitors and only want to earn money. Best of luck.

The owner was generous and helped us find a bus that was supposed to pick us up at the hotel but was over an hour late. All the staff were lovely, and I felt safe. Everyone we met here in Madurai was so friendly, helpful, and kind. Breakfast was included and lovely. The location is excellent, about a 10-minute walk to the train station and less than five minutes to the bus station. We had a budget room, which was a fine size, and the bathroom was very clean. I worried the road traffic would be noisy, but you could barely hear it from the room. There was air conditioning and a TV.
