The most troubling part is that the hotel is still listed as available on Agoda, even though we reported what happened. Others could run into the same problem. We booked there for tonight through Agoda, then contacted the hotel and were told they had no agreement or tie-up with Agoda for our reservation. It left us stressed and confused at the last minute. Agoda didn’t offer an immediate alternative place to stay. They told us to cancel and wait nearly 30 days for our ₹5,000 refund, while we were left without accommodation. That’s unacceptable. People book hotels to avoid this kind of uncertainty, wasted time, and financial strain. Both the hotel management and Agoda seemed misleading and irresponsible, and the lack of accountability and customer support was deeply disappointing. I strongly recommend confirming directly with the hotel before paying Agoda for this property. I never expected such an unprofessional, frustrating experience.

We were comfortable during our family stay at Ratna Residency Madurai from December 20th to December 22nd, 2025. The food was remarkably delicious, and the rooms were exceptionally clean, with commendable service from the staff. The hotel is near the railway station and just 2 kilometres from Meenakshi Amman Temple. There are also plenty of restaurants and shopping areas close by. It’s excellent value for money in Madurai, and I’d highly recommend it.

I’m a regular guest, but this stay was extremely disappointing. The management did nothing to fix the problems and seemed utterly careless. Tap water was rusty, and constant noise made sleep impossible. Willes was especially rude, speaking disrespectfully, using unwanted words, and arguing instead of helping guests. His behavior was unacceptable and made everything worse. Management needs to take staff conduct seriously. It wasn’t worth the money, and I’ll never recommend this place.

The room was kept hygienic, and the hotel is within walking distance of the railway station. But the entrance branding had no proper lighting, and the reception air conditioners weren’t working. The lift was under maintenance, too. Room service was poor. They said a gas shortage meant only idly and chapati were available. I ordered soup and dosa on Zomato, then asked the hotel for a spoon, bowl, and plate. They refused to provide a bowl or spoon.

The people here were very welcoming and helped us with our temple visit, travel plans, and other little things. It’s a simple, comfortable place to stay, and I’d recommend it.
