Rio Grande Residency

We managed to arrange 20 rooms easily for my family, who were travelling from Salem and Chennai, and the hotel was very accommodating. Vincent was friendly and quick to respond while I worked with him. The rooms were clean, and breakfast was great, with iddiyapam, pongal, idly, and dosas. I’d highly recommend the hotel for its outstanding service.

I booked for my family, and it was a very disappointing stay. At night we had no electricity in our room for around three hours. This only happened in our room, and when someone was finally reached, they simply switched on the board, which made it seem the problem had been ignored earlier. We called many times with no answer and went to reception three times, but nothing was properly done. The AC and lights weren’t working right either. Communication was difficult because the staff didn’t understand English and there was no translator. Very poor management and service. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The children were bitten by bed bugs in the middle of the night, and we couldn’t sleep for the rest of it. The bed and sheets were dirty and unhygienic. Service was painfully slow too, we waited half an hour for a single bottle of water. The food was okay, nothing great. I told my travel agent, master tour and travels pune, that guest safety and comfort should come first and they should avoid average hotels like this in future. The poor service ruined our trip.

The location and price are the good parts. The room was small and full of cockroaches, though, and the place was badly run down. The toilet is just 4'x5', with the basin outside, and the lights kept flickering. The free breakfast was only okay. If your budget can stretch further, I’d avoid it.
