Bellevue Resort

That relaxed atmosphere made our trip with friends especially enjoyable. We had a great stay at the Bellevue Resort in Mahabaleshwar. The rooms were comfortable, nicely kept, and the clean swimming pool was a good place to unwind and hang out. I’d recommend it for a friends’ getaway.

We didn’t feel comfortable or safe as a couple, so we left around 7 PM, even though our booking was from noon on 29 May. The place felt gloomy and unwelcoming, and there was hardly anyone around, which made us uneasy. The whole stay had a strong negative feeling that we’ve never had elsewhere. We won’t return, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

There are four or five staff members constantly trying to help, but the property is getting no maintenance at all. It could have been one of the best places, though sadly it may gradually lose its charm.

We couldn’t get our drinks or even water from the kitchen fridge for our get-together because the staff locked the kitchen and went to sleep at 10:30 pm. We knocked hard and called for the caretaker, but he didn’t answer. In the morning, there was no hot water because he’d forgotten to fill the solar heater’s tank. The first-floor rooms themselves are nice and spacious, with their own living rooms and a shared balcony connecting the bedrooms. But the staff didn’t seem well trained. When we asked for the AC remotes, the caretaker brought eight different ones for us to test.
