Itsy By Treebo - Gugal Residency Mahabaleshwar

We chose the Jacuzzi Room for a 3-night summer break at Gugal Bliss (formerly Gugal Residency). The property was renovated recently, in December 2025, and the updated interiors and facilities made for a comfortable stay. The room was clean and spacious, with the basic things we needed. Its bathroom stood out, with a large jacuzzi and a separate shower. A tea and coffee maker was provided, though a refrigerator would have been useful. We had to remind the staff to top up the drinking water bottles each day. Hot water was the main inconvenience. The property uses solar heating, so it was readily available in the mornings. In the evenings we had to ask staff to switch on the heater before we could comfortably use the jacuzzi. The room views were average, mostly looking toward nearby hotels, with the valley visible in the distance. The pool is small, but fine for a dip and some downtime, and there's a separate section for kids. Staff were polite, courteous, and willing to help, though we often needed to follow up or remind them. It seemed local staff handled daily operations while the owner managed bookings remotely. Breakfast came with our stay, but it was quite basic, usually two freshly made dishes with bread, butter, and tea or coffee. Don't expect a buffet. The location is handy for getting to attractions in both Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar, since the property sits between them. Mapro Garden and Venna Lake are 3-4 km away. It's best for people with their own vehicle, as both bus stands are around 4-5 km away. There is ample parking on site. The access road from the Panchgani–Mahabaleshwar highway climbs steeply, but drivers comfortable with hilly roads should manage it without difficulty. The clean, recently renovated rooms, jacuzzi, and access to nearby attractions are real positives. It's a good choice for a stay in a convenient location, though better hot water availability and more responsive service would improve the experience.
