Orchid Hotel Panchgani

The service was awful, and the rooms are tiny. At 10k a night, the room isn’t worth the money. It was a horrible experience, with staff who seemed not to care about guests. There were hardly three or four breakfast items each morning, and nobody served at the table. When we asked for tea, Om rudely told us it was self-service. The breakfast area is too small to fit even 50 people, and nobody helps set up tables. There were no patio umbrellas over the outside seating, so sitting there in the burning sun was impossible. At reception there was no welcome, no explanation of breakfast times or what was included, and no food menu in the room. We called reception four times; the menu arrived half an hour later as a printout on paper. I’m not sure the top management knows how bad things are. This is nowhere close to Orchid standards.

The Sunset Cafe had a decent breakfast spread and good variety. The food was high quality, though its prices seemed a bit higher than those of other local competitors. It was convenient to eat on-site, and the food tasted good. We stayed for two nights in a Dew Drop Room with Balcony. It was spacious, spotless, and well maintained, with lush strawberry farms below the balcony, a peaceful view for morning coffee. The property is slightly secluded from the main road, so it takes a short drive to get there, but that gives it a quiet, private atmosphere for a break from the bustle and some mental peace. Service was warm and professional, from easy check-in to quick check-out. Avadhut, Om, and Sachin deserve a special mention. Housekeeping also came by each evening to ask if we needed anything extra for the night, a thoughtful touch. I left feeling refreshed. It was a great stay, and I’d recommend The Orchid Hotel to friends and family and like to return.

The food was delicious and had a nice variety, and the staff were polite and helpful. We found the rooms clean and comfortable, with a pleasant atmosphere throughout. Orchid Hotel in Panchgani near Mahabaleshwar was peaceful and great for relaxing. A lovely place to visit with family or friends, highly recommended.

The Dew Drop rooms really are dew drop sized. A little more space would have been enough. Still, it was a lovely stay, and the staff were a delight to work with, always helpful and going out of their way. Special thanks to Ms Pragati and Ms Gargee at the front desk, and Atul, Bijaya, and Ashvini in the restaurant. We had to cut the trip short, but they promised an early refund. Thank you all.
