Jp Residency by OYO Rooms

Parking was spacious, and the cleaning staff kept things neat. The room was clean and felt safe, and the towel and bedding were very nice. I paid below 1500 a day, so it was a good stay for my vacation. The service was okay, not bad.

There was no security guard at all, and the stay didn't feel safe overnight. We checked in around 2:30 or 3 am. After we were already tired from arriving late, someone kept knocking on our door around 4:30 am and asking us to open it. There was nobody at reception to complain to, and no guard. They charged 1300 for an AC room, but the AC wasn't working. We had one towel for three adults and a minor, no soap, and no Wi-Fi. I don't know why this hotel is still operating despite all the negative reviews. It's not worth a single star.

They charged me Rs 300 extra for AC even though it was included in my booking, so that amount should be refunded immediately. I was also charged Rs 848 as the basic amount, which OYO should refund because the manager, Kartik, was arrogant and didn't help us. Instead of attending to us, he kept talking on his mobile with relatives. Our room, No. 106, had over 100 mosquitoes, but Kartik didn't provide repellent. There was no one to help move our luggage from reception to the room, even though two of our three guests were senior citizens and the third was a woman. The room hadn't been sanitized before we arrived. We were given only one towel for three adults, no bedsheet for the extra bed, no drinking glass, no liquid soap, no shampoo, and no bathroom accessories. Not even eligible for one star.

The property itself was very clean, thanks to the woman who was doing her job properly. It's on the highway near restaurants, grocery shops, and a tea shop, but public transport is hard to find and autos are rare. The amenities were broken, there were no toilet lights, and Dish TV wasn't working because there was no balance. Anyone could come and go without being questioned. The receptionist was very arrogant and seemed to ask for extra money just to talk to you. As usual for hotels across Chennai, he asked me for more money even though I'd paid through the OYO app.
