The owners take such good care of you that it really feels like a home away from home. It’s a safe place, and the rooms are spotless. The location is great, too, just a 5-10 minute walk to the beach through greenery and past a beautiful river.

Everything was super clean, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The self-catering units are good value, though there’s no breakfast. It’s a quiet spot, away from Mandrem’s noise. My only complaints were the lack of credit card facilities and patchy Wi-Fi. The walk to the beach takes about 10 minutes, through a yoga resort and along the main street with some shops. If you need a taxi, ask the venue to arrange one. Their contact is reliable and charges reasonable rates. Other reviewers have mentioned a taxi syndicate in Mandrem charging wildly high fares compared with the rest of Goa. I’d avoid getting a taxi in front of Reeva Beach Resort, as that seems to be where the syndicate operates.

We enjoyed the friendly, helpful hosts, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. Avalon Inn isn’t right on the beach, but it’s a very green, quiet, secluded place and worked perfectly for spending several nights in Mandrem.

This was a nourishing, peaceful place for our stay of more than a week. The friendly, helpful staff really try to make your time there pleasant. The beach is just a three-minute walk away, and there’s a very good massage place on the way. There’s also a lovely rooftop terrace for yoga and meditation.
