EMPIRE THE GRANDE SUITEs

The property is in poor shape and costs too much. It wasn’t cleaned properly, the TV and AC didn’t work, and neither did the geyser. The reception wouldn’t answer calls.

Empire Plaza is a real plus here, with tasty food, plenty of choices, friendly waiters, and a nicely arranged seating area. There’s no way into the restaurant from inside the hotel, though, so you have to leave the building and go in from outside. The hotel itself is budget friendly and neat, and the location near Vytilla Junction makes getting around Ernakulam easy. The bed was comfortable, but the linens could be better; the room could use more space and some maintenance, as could the bathroom, though the shower heads worked well. Reception is pleasant but small, and the room entrance is separate from it. There’s no in-room phone or room service, but you can order food online. For its location and price, it’s good value.

The beds were comfortable and the rooms had decent lighting. There’s no room service, so nothing can be brought to the room. The tap’s water supply was a problem, and sorting out the hot water took a lot of effort. Decent at best.

The restaurant is usually clean and has a pleasant atmosphere, good seating, and lots of parking. There are plenty of dishes to choose from, and the food has been consistently good whenever I’ve had it. I’d especially recommend the appam and egg roast for breakfast, and the curries are good too.
