Lovedale Lakeside Homestay

The host was helpful with information and arranging a taxi for our shopping. We enjoyed staying with friends in such a nice place surrounded by nature, with Kerala’s backwaters close by. Breakfast was included, which was convenient and tasty, and they also offer lunch and dinner. I highly recommend it.

The rooms and bathroom were roomy and spotless, with good sheets and a nice shower, and the garden was lovely. The hosts were kind and happy to answer questions, and they let us know about local festivals. Meals and breakfast were really good and made to suit what we liked. The setting was hard to beat, right by a canal opening onto the lake, where we could watch fishermen come and go in their shikaras. Puthanangady is a charming town, with good bus links to Allepey and Muhama, and the boat jetty to Kumarakarom is about 30 minutes away. This was easily our best homestay during two months in India. We had such happy moments there, so don't hesitate to stay.

We forgot an item when checking out, and Ansh sir kindly sent it to us by courier. That was very thoughtful, thank you. The homestay sits right on Vembanad lake, with lovely hosts and spacious rooms. Breakfast was filling and very nice, and the place is away from the noise and clutter.

We only stayed one night, but it was quiet and comfortable. The rooms were spacious enough and clean, and the sitting area outside, facing the lake, was especially peaceful. The hosts, uncle and aunty, were so friendly it felt like home. The home-cooked food was tasty, too. Clean, good food, enough space, and good value for the money. We left feeling satisfied with what we paid.
