There were none of the basic facilities I expected: no Wi-Fi, TV, geyser, or toiletries. Towels weren’t changed daily, and the room wasn’t cleaned. The staff were extremely rude throughout, and even after checkout they wouldn’t let me use the washroom. I was charged far more than the room was worth, with a ₹500 difference between the online and offline prices. This was easily the worst hotel stay I’ve had, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The owners, a woman and her husband who act as the receptionists, weren’t welcoming at all. They made it feel as though giving us a room was a favor. Service was very bad, and the staff had no manners. A man came into the room without permission to fix something in the washroom, spoke rudely, and didn’t even fix it properly. Their behavior spoiled our day and stay. They seem unnecessarily proud of their small rooms, which are worse than some dharamshala rooms. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Don’t go, or you may regret it and have your mood spoiled. Reply to the writer responding to my review: Sir or ma'am, there must be a reason people are leaving one-star reviews, and everyone talks about the rude behavior. You should look into it first. Also, I heard about you from local autowalas, who don't care about your business, which is why I questioned things. I tried to find your listing on three platforms, but you had unlisted yourself right away. Smart move, bravo! As for coming back, I’ll think about it and may come meet you. I’d like to see you watch their behavior in front of you. The truth is, you made me and people like me hate Mumbai. First impressions last.

I didn’t stay here. Hotel Shiv Krupa has good food, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, and the ambience and staff are good too. It’s a good place for a meal in mankhurd. The AC family seating is a plus, though the food quality could be improved for the price. They should pay more attention to customers and see that they’re looked after.

I’d already written a detailed review on goibibo, so I won’t repeat it here. One tip: booking in person can save quite a bit. The dormitory is 850+/night excluding taxes on goibibo, compared with 600/night if you book at the hotel. A single room is 1650+/night excluding taxes online and 1500/night in person. It’s especially convenient for people coming to Mumbai for a TISS interview. An auto takes about 10 minutes to get there and costs only Rs. 35-40/-.

The service is 3rd class. Avoid the non-AC rooms, especially the dormitories. The toilet layout lets people outside clearly see what’s happening inside, and the lady owner comes into your room regardless of what you’re doing.
