The Altruist Andheri Hotel

For a quick two-day work trip, this is good value for money. It may be a 3 star by its specifications, but I'd give it 5 stars for the prompt service. The rooms are small, which I think is just a Mumbai thing, but they're laid out well and have the basics: individually controlled AC and geyser, plenty of light, a full mirror with an overhead light, big windows for natural light and a view of Mumbai Local, a glass bathroom partition, kettle, toiletries, dental kits, towels, clean sheets and pillows. Tata Sky worked nicely with lots of music, movie, and other channels, though the TVs aren't smart ones. Andheri is incredibly convenient. You can walk from Andheri station, rolling your trolley along the ramps that end about 100m from the place. When the light above our mirror stopped working, they sent a technician promptly and it was fixed right away. The one catch besides room size is that the balconies are locked, so you have to request access. All the receptionists were good, and Guru was especially helpful on the morning shift with tea, coffee, and other needs.
