For the price, this place is cheap, with clean rooms and bathrooms, decent food at a low cost, good staff, and Wi-Fi. But there are quite a few drawbacks. It’s in a small, remote village that doesn’t feel like a tourist destination, and the property itself is small. There aren’t restaurants nearby, and the hotel serves food only at set times, so bring enough if you arrive outside those hours. Don’t expect Munnar scenery in Kanthalloor. There aren’t good places to visit nearby, and the area may disappoint after the long drive from Munnar. It also isn’t set up for children, with nothing to keep them occupied, and a stay of more than one day could leave you disappointed. The staff are kind, though not professional. Since local people run the place and there’s no phone in the room, I had to walk to their office several times to get an issue sorted. My bed was damaged and very hard, there was a problem with the hot water, cards weren’t accepted, and the power went out frequently.

A beautiful, cozy spot for a break from city life, with a stunning view. It’s more like a few villas than a resort, and it’s one stay away from town. Mobile service is limited: only BSNL works, and even that comes and goes. The Wi-Fi also drops when it rains. Don’t come expecting a wide choice of food.

We had a lovely time in the mist at this resort, which is near the far end of Kanthaloor. The views are stunning, the rooms are neat, and the service is good. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. A wonderful place to hide away.

The hotel was getting a full makeover when we arrived. It’s in a good location with a breathtaking view, but customer relations could use improvement. Still, it’s a good place to stay.
