Lilies Resort

The road to the resort is narrow, but it’s easy enough to drive. Once there, you get serene surroundings, lots of fresh air, and cottages built nicely above a valley. I’ve stayed in some lovely places, and this is one of the nicest. Hospitality was good, though the food was just okay.

There’s a dedicated parking area outside the compound, and the view here is great. The staff gave us good service and even arranged breakfast without charging us, despite the place not having a restaurant. The locks could use attention, though, as they’re not in great condition.

The manager kept in touch and was very helpful whenever we had a need. Breakfast was nice, and the arrangements were well made. We came in mid December, when mornings and nights were pleasantly cold. There were no mosquitoes, though we did see some bugs and flies outside. We had a peaceful family stay with the kids. The rooms were tidy, clean, and spacious for the price, and the mountain views and location are beautiful. The road from Anachal city was being worked on along both sides, which made the drive a bit difficult. It’s 49 Km from Top station, and getting to Munnar from here takes at least an hour. I’d recommend the place.

The location gets all the credit here. It’s around 20 KMS from Munnar and quite isolated, so the scenic setting is calm and peaceful. Management and hospitality were decent, and WiFi worked well in both the room and common areas. There were some problems with the room and facilities. The wall had what looked like mold or fungus, possibly from humidity. The water heater didn’t work, so we had to wait for hot water every time. Food quality was average, and most dishes came from another restaurant and were overpriced. The garden also needed better care, perhaps with a few flower plants added.
