Hotel The President

On July 6th & 7th, 2026, I stayed here for 2Nights and paid more than 6k, but there were a lot of issues. We had no hot water in the washroom. Reception told us it was only available from 5 to 11am, which is strange for a 3 star property. Our room also had no dental kit or handwash. We weren't shown to the room, just handed a key and told it was on the third floor. The bedding was another problem. They put a dirty duvet between 2 bedsheets, then justified it by saying they didn't have a duvet. Staff said they required hard copy IDs, even though that wasn't mentioned when booking, and wouldn't accept Digi Locker IDs, which 5 star properties accept. I'm a Front Office Manager in a 5 star brand myself. The Front Office staff were busy chit chatting in reception, with 4 people standing idle while nobody came to the room to see what was wrong. They sent a GSA from Housekeeping, who couldn't understand our problem. FO staff didn't answer the landline, so I had to call their mobile and ask them to send someone to fix the issue. I hope the hotel addresses these problems and improves its service.

Food service was poor too. Breakfast had only a few basic choices like idli and bread, and when groups were booked in, individual guests were practically left without regular restaurant service. I also saw kitchen staff carrying uncovered raw chicken and meat in an open paint bucket in the elevator, raising serious food safety and sanitation concerns. Cockroaches were moving around in the room. The room AC didn't work when I arrived. While I was getting ready for an important meeting, they did repair work in the room, causing delays and discomfort. The front office team seemed callous and indifferent when I reported the problems, with no urgency or concern. Escalating it didn't help. The so-called MD didn't have the basic courtesy to listen or engage professionally. The stay at The President Hotel, Mysuru fell far below acceptable standards, with poor maintenance, questionable hygiene, and no customer care.

Housekeeping and room service were efficient, the amenities were well looked after, and staff were courteous, professional, and prompt. The rooms were clean, neat, and well maintained, with a pleasant, welcoming feel throughout. Hotel President, Mysore was a reliable and enjoyable place to stay. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Mysore.

We enjoyed our short family visit at The President Mysore. An extra pillow and a dental kit would have been useful, but we had a good stay.
