Hotel Vashanth Krishna

I was traveling with my parents, who are both senior citizens and Army veterans, and the way we were treated was disrespectful. I had booked through flipkart (Cleartrip) and requested early check-in, but the manager and reception staff refused, even as I sat there watching several rooms become available and guests check out. They also asked for 800 Rs for early check-in, which I feel should depend on room availability. I wouldn’t recommend this property for anyone visiting with family, parents, or kids.

The rooms are cramped, and I’m concerned there is no emergency exit. In an incident, people in the rooms at the end could be trapped, so I’m not sure how the place got fire safety approval. The bed also had a lot of dirt and hair, which suggests it isn’t being washed properly. For such a prime location, the rooms are below standard. Just an average stay, and the reception looks can be deceptive.

It’s been 12 years since I was last at Hotel Vasanth Krishna, Nagercoil, and this was my third stay. The location is great, right across from the Collector’s Office, and it’s good to see improvements, especially the new restaurant. I liked getting a breakfast reminder call on the first day, but there wasn’t one on days two and three. The rooms are small but functional. Clean towels and more consistent housekeeping would help. A solid budget option with room to improve.

Pothys Silk is right next door, which made visiting it very convenient. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and enjoyed it, and the complimentary breakfast was nice too. The room itself was quite small, and the bathroom had an unpleasant smell when flushed. There was no soap, so we had to ask reception for some. A kettle was provided, but no tea bags.
