The manager and helper were friendly and cooperative, and I also got to meet the owner, who was a very good and inspiring person to talk with. Breakfast was home-cooked, amazing, and healthy. The rooms were spacious and clean, with nice views from the top of a hill. For the price, it’s the best hotel, and a great place to stay in Ooty.

The views were lovely, and we had parking. The rooms were cozy, service was nice, and the caretakers looked after us well. Breakfast was very good, but some dinner dishes weren’t, especially the fried rice, which I’d avoid. You need to order dinner and a campfire by morning for the evening. The water heater took 20-25 minutes to heat enough water for each person, and our TV didn’t work properly. We couldn’t get it fixed.

The arranged bonfire and the good-quality breakfast were the bright spots. There were flies and mosquitoes, though, and cleanliness needs improvement. You have to keep chasing them even for towels. I also found a soap box left in the bathroom, which made me wonder if the cleaner might be using the room bathroom. The bed was really uncomfortable, and getting to the place takes good driving skills.

We came with family on 9th March after a friend recommended the property, and planned to leave on 10th March. The quiet and the place itself were so appealing that we stayed an extra day. It felt like home in Ooty, and we had two worry-free days, thanks to how we were treated. The location is outstanding, about a five-minute trip from the main bus stand up a small hill. You can see the whole main city and the racecourse. The rooms were spotless, and the manager and cook were kind and ready to help with anything we asked. The food was tasty and nicely presented. The boat house, government rose garden, Ooty Lake, railway station, bus stop, and market are all about five minutes away. My daughter loved hanging out in the backyard and playing on the swing. We asked to have dinner in the backyard, which they served there, but it was cold at night. Breakfast would have been a better choice. One suggestion: a hotel cab service would help people arriving by bus or train. They did arrange transport to doddabetta when we asked.
