Sun Shine Grand by OYO Rooms

Ainsley deserves a big thank you for being so friendly, respectful, and always ready to help with a smile. That warm welcome added a lot to our stay. At The Byke Select - Sunshine Grand, everything went smoothly and we felt comfortable throughout. The rooms were cozy, neat, and well maintained, and the hotel had a peaceful, relaxed vibe that suited Ooty’s weather. Service was quick, and the staff were courteous and professional. It’s a place with comfort, good energy, and great memories. If you want a relaxing, premium-feeling stay in Ooty, I’d recommend it and would love to return. EARNED FULL RESPECT.

Breakfast was a mess. The hotel can hold many more guests than its restaurant can seat, so the dining area was chaotic. The food was only okay, with no salt in the sambhar, chutney, or sabji, and the tea was awful. We saw three or four guests complaining at reception, so it’s hard to understand the 4.7 Google rating. The reviews looked paid or fake to us. As for the rooms, we booked two deluxe rooms with balconies, but they were noticeably different in size and had different sized cupboards. The old furniture wasn’t maintained. One room had two carpets covering broken floor tiles, and the carpet was filthy. Cleaning was poor too. On day two we had to follow up repeatedly, and even then it wasn’t done properly. The location is fine because it’s close to the city center, but being right in the center means a lot of pollution smell. All in all, not even two stars in the true sense. Beware!

Mr. Vishwanathan looked after us from start to finish and made us feel comfortable and welcome. Thanks as well to the Hotel Management and staff for keeping the spaces in good shape. We loved the delicious breakfast and tasty food, and it’s a nice place to spend time with indoor and outdoor games. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated, spotless, and had comfortable bedding, though the pillows were a bit too firm for me. The central location is unbeatable, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. It was a relaxing, peaceful stay and good value for money. I’d suggest experiencing it for yourself if the reviews have caught your eye. It’s good for families with kids, friendly get-togethers, office meetings with healthy parties, and vacations.

We had a lovely three-night stay, with excellent rooms and truly stunning views. Mr. Anup and Mr. Laden provided attentive service, and our driver, Mr. Ganesh Ji, was a real gentleman, exceptionally well mannered. Dinner on both nights was disappointing and below average, though. Everything else was wonderful, but the food quality could definitely improve.
