Rainbow Cottage

The people of ooty were warm and friendly, and the helpful cab drivers made us feel less like tourists after just a few minutes with them. Rainbow cottage was a pocket-friendly, peaceful choice since we planned to spend 90 percent of our time outside. The spacious super deluxe room was comfortable, and you can book online or offline at affordable prices depending on the season. The location is great and places are easy to reach on foot. Botanical garden, rose garden, and moddys café, famous for hot chocolate, are nearby. There’s street shopping close by too, including woolen items, bags from Rs.90, and water proofs. The cottage management can arrange safe drivers and affordable tour cabs, and tour packages are available. They also serve food, tea and soups. We loved their tea and soups. Thank you for serving people so warmly. I highly recommend the stay and tour packages.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the cottage is conveniently located with spacious rooms. But when we arrived, the room had a strong odor and the interior looked quite old. The bathroom geyser was controlled from reception, so we had to call 20 minutes ahead whenever we wanted hot water. They'd turn it off soon after, leaving only about 10 litres for a bath. Often we had to call twice so two people could bathe, which was inconvenient.

Great location, and the service is top notch. For just 840, we got a large bedroom with two double beds. It really works well just for sleeping. The paint needs changing, and please change the bedsheet to white if you can.

Rainbow Cottages is in a decent spot with nice surroundings, but the stay was below average. Rooms are basic and aren't always maintained well, and cleanliness needs work. Amenities are limited, some facilities may not work properly, service can be slow, and staff don't always respond consistently. The place has potential, but the upkeep and service need improvement. Not the best choice unless you're on a tight budget.
