Zostel Ooty

The relaxing, welcoming atmosphere and beautiful, well-kept setting made this a memorable, delightful stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful, and the facilities and arrangements were generally well organized. The bathroom needs to be cleaner and better organized, with somewhere proper to hang towels and keep toiletries. The tissues and other basic amenities were poor quality. Ooty is already cold, but mornings felt hot in the room because there was no air conditioning or fan. A few improvements to the bathroom and basics would make the place even better.

I loved the easygoing atmosphere, with a common area for relaxing and meeting other travelers. It felt peaceful among the scenic surroundings, yet close enough to the main town to be convenient. A great option for backpackers and solo travelers. The dorms and private rooms were comfortable, clean, cozy, and well maintained, with lovely hill views. The friendly staff were always ready to help and offered useful suggestions for local places to explore.

I met some really nice people, and the social atmosphere is definitely a plus. The property isn't maintained very well, though. The washrooms need attention, especially the latches, which urgently need fixing in a mixed dorm. Better upkeep would make this place much better.

The private rooms are decent, and there's always good company to be found at Zostels. Bonfire, tasty home cooked meals, and a friendly atmosphere.
