City Palace

I was very disappointed by the staff’s rude behavior and poor service. My Booking.com reservation was confirmed at ₹1405, but when I arrived, an elderly staff member named S. Rai demanded ₹1800. When I questioned the difference, he said my booking would be cancelled if I didn’t pay that amount. Charging above the confirmed online price and threatening to cancel was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

The room was in awful shape: it smelled terrible, wasn’t clean, had no water in the washroom, and the bedsheets and pillows were dirty and stinking. We asked them to change the linens, but got no response. The manager was very rude and clearly didn’t know how to speak to guests. I’d booked a room at Hotel City Palace last night after being quoted a lower rent. Once I confirmed and arrived, they charged extra, claiming it was because I’d booked online, so I paid. They wouldn’t show us the room before check-in or even hand over a key. They just opened Room 101 for us and left. I strongly advise everyone not to book Hotel City Palace under any circumstances.

A very good property for the money, with very reasonable rates, high-class facilities, polite staff, and a very neat, clean room.

The property is right in the market, so everything is at your doorstep. Rooms are very neat and clean, and the staff are nice and ready to work around the clock.
