Luigi Villa

Kumaran was informative, helpful, and took great care of the guests. The villa is clean, beautiful, and homely, with a serene, relaxing atmosphere. Its location worked perfectly for us, close to everything we needed. We had a really good time and would definitely visit again.

The location is awesome, right in the French colony. The sea is a 5 minute walk away, and Anthe cafe is about 2 minutes on foot. There’s a pastry shop just outside the main gate with good bakery items, and a petrol pump opposite Anthe cafe. The hotel’s walls and gate also make a nice spot for pictures. We stayed from 25-26 in a standard room on the rooftop. It’s a cozy boutique style heritage property, and we liked our stay. The room and bathroom are small, and there’s no bathroom exhaust fan, which they should consider installing. There’s a relaxing garden area. They don’t serve breakfast, but there are plenty of eateries around. I came to Pondi in my own vehicle and was worried about parking. The hotel doesn’t have its own parking, but there was ample space to park our car along the same lane, which was a big relief.

Apart from the location, I found nothing convenient or pleasant here, and the price wasn’t justified. We stayed in August 2025. The room and bathroom were cramped, and the bathroom was very small and unclean. Though I paid for three people, there wasn’t enough room for an extra mattress. Mosquitoes were unbearable and kept us from sleeping at all, but the hotel didn’t provide repellent. Within 30 minutes of check-in, they also asked us to move rooms under what I felt was a false excuse. It was unprofessional and inconvenient. A very disappointing stay, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The staff were helpful, and they helped us extend our stay by half a day because our bus was at night and we needed somewhere to rest. Mani can also help book autos and bikes. It’s a small but well-maintained place, with spacious, fairly clean rooms. The French colony location is lovely, on a beautiful street within walking distance of the sea and cafes. Older people may find the stairs difficult for a standard room, though a ground-floor suite is available.
