Ronald, Varsha and the rest of the residency staff made for a really good experience. Everyone was welcoming and helpful, and service at dinner was excellent. The place was clean, stylish and roomy, and the rooms were immaculate and comfortable. The bed was comfortable, with two pillow options. Early in the morning, the mountain view was breathtaking. It felt luxurious from beginning to end.

The rooms at Laly’s Residency, Thrissur are only on the second floor. The rest of the building is a hypermarket, food court, textiles and other shops. It's on the highway, so getting there is fairly easy. Parking caused constant confusion. Although the whole complex has the same brand, hotel parking is some distance from the rooms, and guests have to handle their own luggage. Early in the morning, while our family, including a child, was asleep, reception called and asked us to move the car for hypermarket visitors. The hypermarket wasn't even open yet, so the call was completely unnecessary. The rooms are average. They seem to be aiming for a premium feel, but maintenance lets them down. The floors and furniture need a better clean. Room prep was also lacking: some toiletries were missing, set-top boxes hadn't been checked or recharged, and the body wash wasn't properly refilled. Food was the worst part. The evening snacks didn't seem fresh and were far too oily, while the tea and cold coffee tasted very bad. Breakfast was just about manageable. Travelling with a child, we were genuinely concerned about stomach trouble. The hotel rooms share food service with the restaurant downstairs, but breakfast isn't included. The restaurant staff didn't seem interested when we raised our concerns, and Swiggy isn't available here, which limits the food choices. Unless you absolutely need to stay in this location, I'd strongly suggest avoiding the property.

The shared areas, including the entrance, were bright, clean and hygienic. My room, 214, was the opposite. There was mold, dust and fungus all over the walls, and the toilet walls and tiles were covered in mold or fungus too. The toilet itself was okay, but the property hasn't been maintained well.

The beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of lighting. The location was handy for Thrissur centre, with lots of parking and a Hypermarket nearby. The staff were friendly, polite and accommodating. Food n fun room service was quick and affordable, though you can find food cheaper elsewhere, as room service usually costs more. There were a couple of room problems: the fridge didn't work, and the balcony door wouldn't shut properly. International travellers may be able to pay with Revolut, as I did, though it could vary with other banks. Good value for the price, and I'm glad I stayed. I'd come back if I needed to.

The supermarket staff were especially friendly and helpful. They didn't have the item we were looking for, but helped us find something else that worked well. The place is easy to access, has lots of parking and a supermarket nearby, and compared with other hotels in the area, it's the best. They also let us check in late. Communication was poor between staff and with guests, from booking through checkout. We were told breakfast was complimentary when booking, but there wasn't any, so confirm exactly what's included. The room was called deluxe, but didn't feel worth the price. There were exposed electrical wires, a broken ceiling, and an endless wait for hot water. The in-house restaurant is convenient, but staff there seemed badly out of sync too. We ordered one dish and got another, and they just said sorry. After our meal, we waited about 15 minutes for juice, then around four staff came over asking for new orders and bills. It felt like they were telling us to leave because we'd finished eating, which was embarrassing. If the hotel and restaurant have the same management, please get the staff on the same page and make sure they understand customers.
