I've been going to their Suryama cafe regularly for four decades, but food at Raviraj was an unexpectedly pleasant surprise. It's usually very good and sensibly priced, yet somehow remains Deccan Gymkhana's best-kept secret. Whether you're getting takeaway, having a family outing, or attending a banquet, the Oriental and Continental food is a real strength. Those cuisines are often a weak point in Indian kitchens, but this simple, elegant, homely property does them well.

I came to Pune for medical reasons and felt at home during my stay. The room was nice, clean, hygienic, and well maintained. The owner was friendly and behaved nicely, and the staff were polite, friendly, appreciative, and helpful.

We had booked two rooms for our families, and one bathroom was clogged, so they moved us. The bed in that other room had rat droppings on it, and the blankets were stained. At 1.30am they shifted us to another room, but that one was completely uncleaned and awful too. A very bad experience.

The entrance has a ramp, which makes it easy for elderly people and people with disabilities to get in. It's also easy to reach, and a great spot for family gatherings and functions. The food is awesome, and the staff are polite.

It's centrally located. Back in the 90's and 2000, this place used to be very, very good, and the food was delicious then. Now it's just okay.
