The location's name is Laxmi Resort, Puri, but the stay was a nightmare. We arrived around 12:30 PM and weren't even given a glass of complimentary water. The rooms were filthy, and after repeated requests they weren't cleaned before midday. The cleaning they eventually did was half-hearted, and the washroom smelled foul the whole time. We kept asking for an Odonil cake to deal with the odor. It finally arrived at 5:30 PM, hours after check-in, only after we said we'd raise the issue with the owner. He happened to be visiting for his kid's birthday. Staff showed no interest in helping and were extremely uncooperative. One room's AC didn't work properly, and they acted as if responding to our complaint was a favor. There was no power backup, so we were left sweating during power cuts. They don't have a restaurant, which is fine, but for nine of us they could barely provide three plates when we asked for some for our food. Those plates were filthy. Paying ₹1000 felt like a waste. The hygiene was terrible, below what I'd expect even from a low-budget property, and basic hospitality was missing. If you value comfort and cleanliness, stay away from Laxmi Resort. The appearance is deceptive, so think twice before booking. Those positive reviews from vloggers don't match what we experienced.

The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, and the AC room price was reasonable. It's a new hotel near the lighthouse, with a great view of the less crowded beach from the room. Staff were good, though communication was a bit difficult. All the rooms are on the ground floor. There isn't a separate restaurant, so lunch and dinner have to be ordered; the food was a bit costly, the quantity was good, and the quality average. We had a few mosquitoes, and the bathroom water supply sometimes didn't work properly. Still, the overall experience was good.

At 2500 per day, I got little for the money beyond the location. There was no maintenance or service, and both the staff and the owners who leased it from the main person behaved badly. They are just fooling people at that price. I'd suggest visiting first and seeing the room before booking. You can find better rooms for the same price. It's one of the worst hotels I've stayed in in Puri.

The staff are cooperative and simple-hearted, and the rates are around average. It's right in front of the beach, so it's an option if you're looking for affordable sea-facing rooms. From outside it looks royal, but inside it's below average, with amenities that are okay but low quality.
