Hotel Four Waves

The rooms are spacious, and this is an apartment hotel, one building with rooms. We had a group of 40 stay for 2N, and it was a decent option in Puri. The manager Bhagya Sahoo was very helpful, but whenever he wasn’t around, we had many issues, including late food service and mismanagement of luggage collection. The food was average. I’d suggest management add handwash in the rooms, toilet roll in the toilets, and more light in the washroom. The rest, it’s the best!

We went in March and experienced serious mismanagement and a lack of professionalism. We booked and paid advances online through WhatsApp, but when we reached the station, they offered no help getting to the hotel. We had reconfirmed the room, pool-view side, and floor through chats and calls. They said everything was confirmed and that our chosen room was booked. When we arrived, our room had been given to someone else. Staff acted as though they didn’t know the details, and one person blamed us for not choosing, so we showed screenshots and call recordings. Management then insisted we “adjust” in a first floor room, saying the other floors were full. It was damp and poorly maintained. Service also seemed biased, as they appeared to prioritize NRI guests. Apart from one or two people, management was slow, forgetful, and poorly coordinated, too many cooks spoil the broth. The hotel is far behind the other hotels, away from the central area and beach. It takes at least 15 mins to walk to the beach, and 30-45 mins to the central beach and market. An auto or toto to Swargadwar costs 100rs each way, so that’s 200rs extra a day. The hotel shares premises with Wildberry Inn, and both look exactly alike. The whole building is in Club Krishna Sea Sights, supposedly made up of 4 hotels, so autos may know it better as the Krishna one. The pool is shared with the other hotel and wasn’t clean. I saw a family of about 12 swimming, and afterwards they didn’t clean it or change the water. They have a central system for geysers. Food was alright if you want to try it, but you can go outside for more variety. The checkout system here, and across Puri, is highly inconvenient. Guests must leave by 7:00-8:00AM, even if their train is in the afternoon or evening. They’re strict about early checkout, but not about keeping their service promises and room assignments.

The water tasted so bad it couldn’t even be used to rinse my mouth, and the room service was slow and unresponsive. Food quality was extremely poor and had no taste. Hygiene was almost non-existent, especially in the dining area, which smelled very bad. The staff seemed unconcerned with guest expectations or basic service standards. I had a really unpleasant stay and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

The balcony was lovely and cool, with good views, and the pool was clean and quiet, a refreshing spot. I stayed at this resort for four days, and it was quite pleasant. The room was cleaned daily.
