We had a terrible stay at Hotel Lotus with our family. The sheets were filthy, with semen stains, and the replacement we asked for was dirty too. The bathroom was gross and full of cockroaches. The fan barely moved, and when we complained, staff told us, "This is our hotel's maximum speed." We arrived at 9:10 PM, but the owner charged a full day's rent even though only three hours remained in the day. The staff and manager were rude, ignored our complaints, and brushed off every problem. The hotel looks okay outside, but inside it was a nightmare. Auto drivers at the station bring tourists here for commission, so don't trust them or let them steer you away from checking other hotels. Please avoid this place. The hygiene and service were awful, and we felt there was no respect for guests. It ruined our family trip.

The online photos are 6-7 years old and don't show what the hotel is like now. The walls were stained with tobacco and spit, and the place looked unhygienic. Auto drivers at the station take people straight here and discourage them from looking at other hotels, apparently for commission. We paid ₹1800 for an off-season non-AC room, while a nearby hotel offered AC rooms for ₹1400. The receptionist also tried to charge extra for bus and travel bookings. It felt overpriced and poorly maintained, so look around before booking.

At Hotel Lotus, Harry's cafe serves the best food. It's all comforting pure vegetarian fare, made without onion or garlic. I especially liked the aloo Gobi, aloo potol, and paneer butter masala, and can recommend them.

The food was awful, and the taste was bad too. Service was poor and extremely slow. The items weren't good, and they used far too much oil.

The portions were small, and there wasn't even any tandoori roti. The food tasted awful, with so little spice it felt like hospital food, yet the prices were as high as at a three-star restaurant. The worst dining experience here.
